LAC Phillip Holmes
Greetings all ! Looking for further info on LAC Phillip Holmes, RCAF, R/143895, born Grand Rapids Michigan, parents New York City, died August 12, 1942, was involved in a mid-air collision, looking for Squadron / School, Aircraft, Serial #, and if possible, what happened. Appreciate any help and assistance with this !

Follow up info. He was actually killed as a passenger in the aircraft. From my reading of the records, his Unit was No 2 ITS, but the aircraft that he was in possibly belonged to 124 Ferry Squadron.

Actor. Son of actress Edna Phillips, brother of actor Ralph Holmes, he played in some 50 movies. Most remembered in "Private Scandal," "Penthouse," "Dinner at Eight" and "Million Dollar Ransom." A Leading Aircraftman with the Royal Canadian Air Force, he died in a mid-air collision.

Found the detailed accident report under Sgt Kirby
The report shows that his Unit was NO 2 ITS, and he was on a 124 Ferry Squadron aircraft as a passenger

Hey Temujin, Thanks very much for the info, as I read the papers that you put on, it started to sound familiar so I looked further into it, and the last time you were in Arizona, you had helped me with another American involved in the air collision. A.J. Lebella, who hailed from Port Chester, New York was also in the same aircraft as LAC Holmes. Thanks again !

When I started searching for the info, I saw P/O Labella was an American and remembered we had worked on him previous.
