Research RCAF No. 404 Squadron came upon (J/13741 - R/133134) James Rudolph "Jim" Rumbel, could not find where he is from, while trying to find out, he was mentioned in another forum that he was from the U.S.A., but did not say where from both CWGC and CVWM has nothing about hometown.

Aircraft seen to engage enemy fighter over German convoy near Kristiansund, Norway, Aircraft failed to return from mission, crew listed as missing.

Definitely an American citizen, George.
He was born in Kokomo, Indiana 8 December 1912, the son of Gordon and Louise (nee McCauley) Rumbel of Kokomo.
On enlistment in Edmonton 20 September 1941 he gave an address of a PO Box in Fairbanks, Alaska where he had been working as an engineer for US Smelting.

Thank You both Ludford 101 and Temujin for the info, since I started actually researching the individual R.C.A.F. squadrons, I have located 8 more Americans that I did not have on my list. Working on the fighter squadrons first, then will work on the bomber force, Then on to the training schools.
