I am looking for some assistance in identifying some of the 400 or so Canadians who served as part of 78 Squadron. Any further detail, photos or information would be greatly appreciated. Here are the first ones:

Daz, I’m looking......while I was looking I’m spotting names and information so I thought, although not on your list, since I’ve on the page I’ll copy it and send it to you.....you may have these but I thought it wouldn’t hurt

Many thanks for this, much appreciated. Interestingly Gourley was not 78 Squadron but was 76 Squadron. Halifax Mk I L9529 was lost on ops to La Palace and was shot down by fighters; four of the crew were killed and 3 taken POW.

John Erricker who is mentioned in one of the articles was a wonderful man who sadly passed away a number of years ago. He set himself the task of contacting the relatives of all those who had lost their lives with 78 Squadron and where possible obtain information about them. He was a most humble and unassuming gentleman and was key in developing my own interest with the Squadron.

Many thanks, much appreciated. He arrived on 78 Squadron just before the end of the war, on the 21st April 1945 coming from Number 74 Base. He was a Navigator.
