I am looking to see if there is more info available on RCAF, 442 Squadron, P/O S.H. Lorenz on why the Mustang crashed, I currently have

Mustang, KH665, May 10, 1945

Pilot: P/O S.H. Lorenz, J/95148, RCAF, St. Walburg, Saskatchewan, Canada

Aircraft was involved in a low flying exercise when the aircraft crashed, cause is not currently known

Was flying Mustang aircraft # KH 665 in an authorized low-flying exercise. When he executed a double roll a wing tip struck the ground and he was killed when the aircraft crashed near Kinsolynn, Norfolk, England.

P/O Lorenz was my uncle. It is great to see this report. I do have his flight log with the final flight close out by his CO.

When the Air Force forced me into retirement, I wanted to get involved in something so I would not get bored, being as I have always been a WW II Aviation nut, I decided that if Americans had volunteered for the "Flying Tigers" and the RAF "Eagle Squadron". Well, I figured I would research if Americans had been apart of any other squadrons than our own, and WOW, there was a lot of them, Fighter Command, Bomber Command, Coastal Command and others, unfortunately, like your uncle a lot of them did not make it home, "May they Rest in Peace" ! There are some good folks on here that have helped me complete some of my research on a lot of the Fallen Warriors. Just when I think I have them all, up pops some more, all of them, with their own stories.
