Since he was attached to 2 HAA Regt as a driver I would think he went overseas with them in the same convoy. I'll check the diaries for the dates when 2 HAA went over to the UK to see if they match his service record.
And here's a photo of a 47 General Transport Company Mack truck:
No. 47 General Transport Company, RCASC

I do not mind sharing info on here, as it may help others.Temujin wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 3:59 pmActually, anything you can give me on his dates of transfer between units etc. Their are war diaries available for other units, and i might be able to find info on him. Also, you said he “embarked” for England on the 12th Dec 1941....and you thought it was convoy HX164. This convoy “left” Halifax on the 8th Dec.....so not sure he would have been on this convoy. Again, his records may give me clues.
But of course, your call. If you’d rather share the information privately, you can always PM me on this site with your e-mail, and then I can respond directly back to you and not put anything up on this site. Your decision.....were here to help
Cheers

Not sure if he was still with the 2nd HAA Regt when he went to England? The 2nd HAA arrived in England in Sept 41, and he didn’t arrive until Dec 41.....but it’s still possible. Still looking
Re: No. 47 General Transport Company, RCASC
I thought it strange that he did not sail with the unit as well, but in the records, he was never transferred, just given embarkation leave. Thank you for the photo!

Here is the record of his embarkation.

Re: No. 47 General Transport Company, RCASC
You are correct Filip. The records indicate that he was with the 2nd HAA Regt (except for a “few” attachments to other units for a short time frame) until 1st Apr 1942.
I’m still looking to see if I can find him on a “embarkation nominal roll”.....but haven’t found it yet

I would love to know what ship he sailed on, so thank you for checking!Temujin wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 6:10 pmYou are correct Filip. The records indicate that he was with the 2nd HAA Regt (except for a “few” attachments to other units for a short time frame) until 1st Apr 1942.
