Rsearching RCAF 425 Squadron Halifax's
Greetings all, just checking to see if someone might be able to clear up what actually happened on January 5/6, 1945, RCAF 425 Squadron's With Halifax's MZ-680, NR-178 and NP-999, there is a bit of misinformation on what happened, but it is know that all 3 where lost on a mission to Hannover, Germany. I have currently that MZ-680 was shot down by flak, NR-178 and NP-999 was shot down by night fighters, but when I look into where the aircraft crashed, all three have the same location.
"Aircraft shot down and crashed some 2 km east of Schneeren, a village North of the Steinhuder Meer and 9 km west/northwest from Neustadt am Rubenberge."
There is also a story floating about that Halifax NR-178 was involved in a mid-air collision.
Any help or addition to what actually happened to these three aircraft would truly be appreciated.
Thank you in advance, George !

Wow, awesome info, and sad at the same time, I had read that P/O J. Lamarre from Halifax MZ860 had been murdered by the S.S., but did not know that P/O J. Piche was also murdered, beat to death during an interrogation., just terrible, do you happen to have the home town info on P/O J. Piche, J/92868, RCAF. I can't seem to find it. and as always, Thank You so much, I appreciate all the help you give.
