Currently researching RCAF Squadron 427, came across H.P. Halifax, LV828, which crashed February 01, 1944 near Grafton Underwood, Northamptonshire, England on a training flight. the Pilot: F/O J.M. Matherly, J/24429, RCAF, Sarasota, Florida, U.S.A., stayed with the aircraft while the rest of the aircrew bailed out, sadly, the pilot did not get out of the aircraft and was killed. I can not find a lot of info on what and why the aircraft crashed and any other info that someone might have. I have names of the crew, but that is all, do not know positions and such any help will truly be appreciated !

Wow, as always "Thank You" Temujin for the info on this, had to take a break for awhile, mom had Alzheimer's and things went down hill and she passed away in February so had to take a breather to deal with things. Slowly getting back into the research ! Thanks for all you do, not only helping me, but all the others as well !

Your welcome George. And very sorry to hear about your mother. Take care of yourself and let me know if I can help lessen your research load if I can.georgetanksherman wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 5:24 pmWow, as always "Thank You" Temujin for the info on this, had to take a break for awhile, mom had Alzheimer's and things went down hill and she passed away in February so had to take a breather to deal with things.
