Re: Fallen Warrior Hometown Search
I think this searches the Canadian Virtual War Memorial, it's fields include the following:
"ADDITIONAL_INFORMATION",
"AGE",
"BIRTH_CNTRY",
"BIRTH_PLACE",
"BIRTH_PROV",
"BOOK_REF",
"CASUALTY",
"CASUALTY_TYPE",
"CEMETERY",
"CITATION_TEXT",
"COUNTRY",
"DATE_OF_BIRTH",
"DATE_OF_ENLIST",
"DAY_DATE_OF_BIRTH",
"DAY_DATE_OF_DEATH",
"DAY_DATE_OF_ENLIST",
"DEATH_CNTRY",
"DEATH_PLACE",
"DEATH_PROV",
"ENLIST_CNTRY",
"ENLIST_PLACE",
"ENLIST_PROV",
"FORCE",
"FORENAMES",
"GRAVE_REFERENCE",
"INITIALS",
"LOCALITY",
"MONTH_DATE_OF_BIRTH",
"MONTH_DATE_OF_DEATH",
"MONTH_DATE_OF_ENLIST",
"PLAN_REF",
"RANK",
"REGIMENT",
"RN",
"SERVICE_NO",
"SURNAME",
"UNIT_TEXT",
"YEAR_DATE_OF_BIRTH",
"YEAR_DATE_OF_DEATH",
"YEAR_DATE_OF_ENLIST"
I could make a custom search form with any and/or all fields with auto-complete and that sort of thing if folks think it would be useful.

Re: Fallen Warrior Hometown Search
Phil, while doing the No. 415 Squadron Hampdens, (Not done) there were a couple of Canadians on the CVWM that did not have home towns listed, went to this sight and they were there, just wanted to spread the word to others
Re: Fallen Warrior Hometown Search
Can you give me an example of a record where this search has more info than the CVWM so I can investigate the difference?

Awesome Phil, hope it works, normally CWGC and CVWM gives the info, but every once in awhile I have to swing to the Canadianfallenheroes site for help. Or if something does not sound right, I like to double check ! And Thank You for what you do here Phil !
