Yeah, this I got from RAF Owned, RCAF Operated, JA100 to JN999

To No. 417 (F) Squadron, RCAF in Italy on 31 May 1944, after returning from loan to USAAF. Failed to return from operations on 26 July 1944.

and

Spitfire pilots and aircraft database - Spitfire JF874

FF 26-8-43 33MU 27-8-43 82MU 2-9-43 Crawford W Long 22-9-43 Casablanca 10-10-43 NAfricanASC 31-10-43 USAAF 31-1-44 417S 31-5-44 FTR ops 26-7-44

That is all I could find on this aircraft, so thought I would ask to see if anyone else could come up with anything, as always "Thank You" so much for the help on this, when one gets into researching like this, it really opens ones eyes to what really happened !

Cheers !!!!

Greetings everyone, doing a bit of research on RCAF Squadron 417, Can not find some of the info !

P.O.W., P/O J.T. Field, J/17829, RCAF, August 13, 1943

2) I found 6 aircraft incidents from RCAF 417 Squadron, with serials #'s, what happened, but no pilot's named

Aircraft: Spitfire, JF336, December 8, 1943, Aircraft hit by flak, aircraft abandoned by pilot, (Do not know where, pilot unknown)

Aircraft: Spitfire, JF361, January,26, 1944, Aircraft crash landed near Anzio, Italy due to aircraft engine failure (pilot unknown)

Aircraft, Spitfire, JF882, June 28, 1944, Aircraft engine failure off Ancona, Italy, Pilot abandoned aircraft (Pilot unknown)

Not a direct answer to your question but thought this recording of an old radio interview with my father P/O John Riley would be of interest. Cheers!
