Excellent ........now you have your answer to that part of the puzzle. Next to find the nominal rolls of units embarking on the ship (they do exists, at LAC......just can’t find them on line yet)

It was a message sent to me from someone else who had confirmed the codes of only those 2 ships. I have no idea where he may have gotten the info from.

The missing "E" designations for TC 1 were:

E.4 Aquitania
E.5 Empress of Australia
E.6 Duchess of Bedford
E.7 Empress of Britain
E.8 Monarch of Bermuda​

Also, it was brought to my attention that the information I'm after appears on reel C-5609 which is not available online yet?

Well, just an update..

In my continuing search I have found one Sergeant Edward Douglas Whitehead with the service # D-76570 who seems to have enlisted 2 October, 1939 with the RMR. My Grandfather enlisted 29 September, 1939 and his service # was D-76535.

Got it, I spotted the info to you on ww2talk.com and that’s the reel that I suspected the information is probably on (and that it hasn’t been digitized yet). You CAN request, thru Heritage Canadiana to Have the reel digitized. They do take requests for info......but it may take them a while and especially now, it could take even longer.

Am I right to assume that many of the guys listed on the above link would have likely all left Halifax on the same date? I know there were some who were never sent overseas, but that would have been late in the war?

It's been awhile, and still, I haven't been able to locate a photo of my grandfather.
