I am the nephew of Charles Young and have carried out extensive research on his training in Canada, service in the RAF, transfer to the USAAF, and death on June 6, 1944. Be advised that some of the material in the obituaries posted here is exaggerated or erroneous, but the true story is still remarkable. I could clear up things by uploading a pdf of a poster that I presented at a meeting of the 93rd Bombardment Group (a memorial society) in San Antonio in 2016. The file is 47.5 MB.
