George, found the information you found. I just sent a “correction” to them.......there is NO...NO 38 Central Flying School........he was on COURSE 38, which was held at CENTRAL FLYING SCHOOL, TRENTON, ONTARIO........Central Flying School did NOT have a Number.

Here’s is the record for the start (and finish) of Course 38 from CFS Operation Record Books

Yeah, it did not sound right when I saw it, but then when I looked at the photo's I saw the "Course 38" but I thought that any info was better than no info.

The page I got the info from has a few good few photo's, http://www.b26.com/marauderman/edward_b_tipton.htm

George, I sent the correction to the website owner above, and he got back to me and thanked me.....BUT......then he asked, since you do Canadian Air Force, could you find this American you served in the Canada, and he worked for his brother 40 years ago, and all he knew was he was killed in a plane accident......of course he didn’t have much to go on, wrong name etc etc......but I did find him (and sent him all the information this morning)......

So, another American in the RCAF to add to your list below......Lucian Augustus Marsh Jr

Temujin,

So should it be assumed that Lt. Marsh was an Instructor with the No. 7 B.&GS, or do you think as soon as he graduated the school, he transferred over to USAAF?????

It looks like he was in Canada from March 41 to May 42 !

He was an Instructor at 7 B&G......when a “name” is mentioned in any of the Training Schools records, it means the person was a “visitor” or “staff”. Before no 7 B&G, in came from no 31 B&G, which was in Picton, Ontario.....it was also run by the RAF

Cheers

George, I found another record you may not have

This is from No 16 Service Flying Training School

Course 36: Aug. 9 - Nov. 7, 1941
Air Commodore G.E. Brookes, O.B.E., pinned on wings and addressed the graduates.

"I am happy to be here to see this graduation from Hagersville. You have done well. My personal pleasure is presenting these wings is marked. While I commend you, may I say a word now in tribute to the men of the maintenance branch, for without their fine work, graduation of a bomber pilot class would not be possible. I think we should mention this at this time as it is through the teamwork of maintenance that graduations are made possible.

"Though you graduate today, your studies are not yet ended. Your training is not completed. Remember there is much to be done that you can do best by application and study, which I know you will continue.

"I wish you chaps good hunting."

Thanks for the heads up on Wayne V. Friburg Temujin, I did not have him in my research.

Pilot: 1st Lt. Wayne Victor Friburg, from Westminster, Massachusetts
513th Bomb Squadron, 376th Bomb Group, based at Benghazi, Libya

Somewhere along the way he transferred over to USAAF, he flew a successful mission during the Ploesti Raid But shortly after tragedy struck

On August 19,1943 1st Lt Wayne Victor Friburg and crew were flying a mission to Italy, their aircraft B-24D, 42-40660 "Little Richard" failed to return to their base at Benghazi, Libya, aircraft had ditched in the Mediterranean, 7 Crew MIA/KIA, 3 survived P.O.W., and one rescued, safe

1st Lt. Wayne Victor Friburg was one of those listed as MIA/KIA

Find-A-Grave has photo's of him in both RCAF and USAAF uniforms
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/563 ... or-friberg

The aircraft

Any idea where he went from 16 SFTS before transferring ????

Cheers
George
