Re: Halifax, HX-265, RCAF 433 Sqdn
I suspect the only place the crew will be found will be the No. 433 Sqn ORB. There's nothing other than the pilot's name in Chorley's Bomber Command Losses 1944. But it did earn a DFC for the pilot, J21518 F/O John MacPherson Gray: This officer piloted an aircraft detailed to attack Berlin one night...

Re: Grandmother Mary Crabb hoping to find World War II heroes who saved her life
It cannot be Edward James Brackett. He enlisted 4 February 1943.
Question 14 also rules out a re-enlistment.

Re: Grandmother Mary Crabb hoping to find World War II heroes who saved her life
This is weird and were not for a photo of the man, I wouldn't post.
Anthony Jack Brackett, born 1917, died in Spring Valley, California in June of 1995.
I don't have an ancestry account and can't have a look but the photo of him is really quite close.

Re: Sgt Albert Bostock, RCAF 434 Sqdn
I don't have the ORB for this squadron, which will give the answer. Have you tried Richard Koval who does the 6 Group site where this came from? The Woodbridge ORB won't tell you anything, I'm afraid. A friend of mine did a project on all the emergency airfields some years ago and told me it's usele...

Re: Grandmother Mary Crabb hoping to find World War II heroes who saved her life
Great work, Phil! I hope you are planning on emailing the reporter and letting them know we have two of them confirmed? Something similar happened on WW2Talk some years ago. I'm not having any luck with Brackett. Either the AJ is incorrect or, more than likely, he passed away somewhere other than Re...

Re: Grandmother Mary Crabb hoping to find World War II heroes who saved her life
Unfortunately it won't be any of those men. None had enlisted by the time these events happened. Calgary Herald of 8 October 1941 helps to ID two of the three. calgary herald 8 october 1941.png Ernest Curtis is all over the Brandon Sun but as it only goes to 1977 no obituary. https://www.findagrave....
