Re: Private V.A. Moores, No 45/47 General Transport Company, RCASC
Nothing definitive, but some notes from the old Armoured Acorn site: https://web.archive.org/web/20160115010645/http://www.armouredacorn.com/ and his 'Canadian Vehicle Markings: Unit and Formation Markings of the Canadian Army 1939-1953 (Vol 1)' I think these findings are snapshots in time, based on...

The appendix will be included in the original diary, it's typical for appendices, maps, airphotos etc. not to be copied in favour of just the 'narrative' as at LMH. Re: Acting Corporal J. I. Andrews
B606??? is a NRMA number, so not eligible for overseas service until late 44. Most didn't go until early 45 or later, so a Feb 45 embarkation fits Andrews. Rancourt is buried in Ontario, so he did not die overseas, consistent with another NRMA man in 1942.

Re: Grandmother Mary Crabb hoping to find World War II heroes who saved her life
If RC Griffin was L18??? (which appears likely from his headstone), it will be extremely difficult to untangle him from RH Griffith who was H29140. L18??? numbers were allotted to 113 Bty (raised in Regina). H29??? numbers were allotted to 71 Bty (raised in Brandon). Both Btys were part of 8 Fd Regt...

Re: Grandmother Mary Crabb hoping to find World War II heroes who saved her life
Shoulder title is 8 Field Regt RCA and a Sept 1941 WD extract from that unit on ww2talk confirms the unit. 113 Bty and 71 Bty of 8 Field were raised in Regina, Saskatchewan and Brandon, Manitoba respectively, linking to the name. 113 Bty was apparently transferred to 7 A/Tk Regt in Jan 1941, leaving...

Ribbons look correct in his portrait except for the missing rosette on his CD.
