Re: Relative Research - Maurice Trottier
Good morning! To update, have attached a copy of discharge papers for Maurice provided by family member. We now have a service number, unit, dates of service to include in our application to LAC for abbreviated service record. Very exciting!! Will keep you posted of our progress. Thanks again!! Have...

Re: Relative Research - Maurice Trottier
Ok, I see the correction to the date, missed that initially. That definitely coincides with how old he would have been at the time. I have to admit that I'm amazed that you were able to source that ship's manifest through just a handwritten name. I've put out some feelers to family to determine if a...

Re: Relative Research - Maurice Trottier
YES! This is him - at least the first two pictures. The record for the for the Cunard Steamship Line for 'Maurice Trotter' (note letter i is missing) shows an age of 29 I believe, so this is probably not him because in 1943 he would have been 18 or so. I recall seeing throughout the years, a picture...

Re: Relative Research - Maurice Trottier
Correct. Very little. The only information I have as to the fact that he was 'in the army' was recollections of some family members, with pictures that I'm trying to track down, of him in uniform. I have no information of active service, or of which regiment he would have been with. Probably the sma...

Relative Research - Maurice Trottier
I'm a little reluctant to submit a request for information for this relative, mainly because we have no information on him, including service number or unit that he served with. We also do not have a copy of his obituary or death certificate which might assist in a search for service records with LA...

Re: Relative Research - Arthur (Art) Burns - Royal Canadian Navy
He sure is! In recent years, Temujin helped my husband and I in tracing our respective fathers' paths through wartime Europe (WWII) as well as that of an Uncle in WWI. We have had the privilege of following a portion of their routes in both NW Europe and Italy, something we would never have been abl...

Re: Relative Research - Arthur (Art) Burns - Royal Canadian Navy
Hi Temujin. Yes! This is him. Thank you (again)!!
I will forward this and accompanying information to family. Once again, you have pulled the proverbial rabbit out of the hat.
I'm sure this will get them started.
Best regards,
Janie.
