Re: Sgt L.S.C. Tait RAF and Sgt R.A.W. Tait RAF Canadian?

It is possible he is entered in error in confusion with F/O Leonard James Tait 82967 RAF, also listed from Edmonton, Alberta. Both might be connected to Edmonton, England. Second (or possibly third) is Sgt Richard Albert William Tait 751664 RAF, from Empress, Alberta. In his case he is buried in th...

Re: Sgt L.S.C. Tait RAF and Sgt R.A.W. Tait RAF Canadian?

First is Sgt Lionel Stanley Cross Tait 1312832 RAF, who is listed from Edmonton, Alberta. However he was born in England, and adopted by his aunt in England, and there is no apparent connection with Canada. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/112177106/lionel_stanley-tait I couldn’t find any connec...

Re: Sgt L.S.C. Tait RAF and Sgt R.A.W. Tait RAF Canadian?

cond (or possibly third) is Sgt Richard Albert William Tait 751664 RAF, from Empress, Alberta. In his case he is buried in the Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey, England, which might indicate a connection, but this might be a collective grave as 4 of the 5 crew from his Whitley aircraft P4982 are...

Re: F/L J.R.B. Firth RAF

Paul, I can’t find anything on a Canadian Connection either. Found lots of information on his birth in England etc, but nothing that shows a connection. Also search to see if he did any flight training in Canada and ‘no joy’ If you want the birth info and other info I found, let me know and I’ll pos...

Re: F/S M.H. Buckley R66343, 401 Sqn. Malta?

Looked up the Records for 603 Squadron and they indicate the Squadron was ‘on route’ and then in Egypt and Cyprus during the time period Apr 1942 to Dec 1942. I don’t see any record of Malta in the Squadron Operations Record Books??

Re: F/S M.H. Buckley R66343, 401 Sqn. Malta?

So far, all the info I could find. You may have some of this, but thought I would post all info of relevance All of the records indicate in was born in the US (making him a US citizen)……but grew up in Canada. I didn’t find any ‘naturalization’ papers, but he could have been a naturalized Canada and ...

Re: Casualty company

Hey guys, I have another question about aservice form entriy. The entry tells me that my great uncle was posted to Casualty company on January 28th 1919. This would have been after he was back in Canada. The form shows him embarking on the 25th of January 1919 from the troop Aquatania. My question ...
