160th Battalion patch

Hey guys. Im sending a picture of what shows to be a cloth badge of the 160th Battalion. An Uncle from another side of the family sent it to me. He found it in a box that belonged to his mother when she passed many years ago. He didnt believe his uncles that were in WW1 were in the160th battalion or...

Re: Casualty company

Thanks for the info and links and the correction on the embarking and de-barking. Just for info, i found the troop passenger list for the Aquitania troopship for that time but unfortunately they are unreadable, but the Manifest is readable and it lines up with the time that my great uncle left for C...

Casualty company

Hey guys, I have another question about aservice form entriy. The entry tells me that my great uncle was posted to Casualty company on January 28th 1919. This would have been after he was back in Canada. The form shows him embarking on the 25th of January 1919 from the troop Aquatania. My question i...

Re: Letter K instead of number

I was just looking back at the queery that i posted of an entry in my great uncles service records. The one about the Camp or Company that he was in when he went to the Kinmel Camp for repatriation. I'm wondering now if the word in his service record is "Concentration Camp"? I found the war diaries ...

Re: Letter K instead of number

Thanks for the imput on my queeries. Can anyone tells me what the No. 6 means which shows when my great uncle went from Witley to Kinmel Park? Could this indicate the camp he went to at Kinmel Park or a sub unit perhaps? I found a picture showing the Kinmel Park area circa 1919 which shows Camp 6 be...

Re: Letter K instead of number

Another item that i am perplexed about is a service form entry. It shows my soldier as being part of the 12th Reserve and being TOS at a "Camp or Company" in the MD#1 District . It shows that ( if im reading this right) he could have been at the RHYL Camp which i understand to have been part of the ...

Re: Letter K instead of number

Hey thanks Phil for the insight. I never thought of the typo with typewriter before. But being that the War Diary also showed a K in its remarks for drafts of men leaving for Kinmel Park, i think it does mean that they were on their way to Kinmel Park and this was thier way of saying it. I havent fo...

Letter K instead of number

Hello everyone. Im wondering if anyone could shed light on an item from a Great Uncles service records ( Regiment Number 652270) from World War 1. The letter K was inserted instead of a number in his date. What is shown is 28-K-19. I also found this reference in the War diary for the 3rd reserve Bat...

Re: Driving school and Daily Orders Part ll

This information is very interesting and helpful. Thank you for answering. I believe it is spurious as you indicated. When i found the part ll daily orders I was able to match up the dates with my Uncles Service Records. That is when he was with the 1st canadian parachute training battalion but noth...
